Day 1:Arrive in Uganda and Transfer to the Hotel in Entebbe
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to the Hotel for overnight as
you relax to wipe off jet lag, you will possibly see some good birds around your lodge.
Day 2:Birding Mabamba Swamp
Drive to Mabamba Swamp in search for shoebill and other wetland birds, for the best photography opportunities before proceeding to Equator crossing line. So cruise in Wooden canoes for the best traditional experience. Other birds include African jacana, purple swamphen, goliath heron, purple heron, black crake and several weavers. Water experiment at the Equator. Uganda is truly a country gifted by nature and; one of the few counties in the world where the imaginary line that divides the earth into two halves passes. Enjoy and participate in the water experience and get certificates. Afterwards get your lunch at the Equator from a selected restaurant before proceeding to Lake Mburo National Park to check in at the lodge.
Day 3:Morning Game Drive and Birding in Lake Mburo National Park
After morning breakfast drive to Lake Mburo for game drive for the best photograph opportunities in search for big herds of Elands, Buffaloes, Zebras, Giraffes, Warthogs, Baboon and Best Scenic View rapped in the rocky outcrop, acacia woodland, savannah and perfect birding experience and colorful 315 bird species which have been recorded in this national park and the species expected on this safari includes; Red-faced Barbet, Abyssinian ground hornbill, Bateleur, Lilac-breasted Roller, Emerald spotted wood dove, Brown parrot, golden-backed weaver, Caruthers’s, Tabora (Long-tailed) Cisticolas, White-winged Warbler displaying and posing for the photos, Acacia woodland bird species are well represented while forest species can be found in Rubanga forest these includes; Blue-breasted kingfisher, Hairy-breasted barbet, Yellow-rumped tinkerbird. Drive to the selected restaurant Hotel for lunch before proceeding for afternoon boat cruise. After lunch proceed to the two hours’ boat cruise. Then transfer back to the lodge.
Day 4:Full Day Birding in Lake Mburo National Park
After early morning breakfast drive to the gate to get the armed ranger guide for the walk sometimes also called birding on foot in search for Lake Mburo Specials. This walk gives you an opportunity to explore and photograph the attractions of this whispers of the wild in its natural state for the best memorable eye to eye wildlife in Uganda. Afterwards return to the lodge for lunch before transferring to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 5:Morning Guided Nature walk in Lake Mburo National Park
After early morning breakfast meet the armed ranger guide for the walk. This walk gives you an opportunity to explore and photograph the attractions of these whispers of the wild in its natural state for the best memorable eye to eye wildlife in Uganda. Afterwards return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch relax at the lodge on your private patio as you waiting to go for your sun set photography opportunity around Lake Mburo National Park.
Day 6:Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Birding en-route
Drive through this amazing and spectacular scenery which never fails to impress. Some of the birds you expect to encounter on your way to Bwindi includes, Grey-crowned crane, Marabou stork, Bare-faced Go-away-bird, stripped kingfisher, grey-headed kingfisher, Double-toothed Barbet, brown parrot, Hadada ibis, cattle Egrets and many others The region is sometimes referred as the land of milk and honey. Enjoy the noble slow moving animals which were originally herded down from ancient Egyptians 2000 years ago called new long-horned Ankole cattle. Before driving through the small like roads through the green rolling mulched hills of Kigezi region before reaching in the evening to check in at the lodge.
Day 7:Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast drive to the tourist gorilla tracking briefing point to get registered and set off to go and meet with these amazing beautiful and peaceful giants. The tracking begins after you have met the gorillas. The Park gives you an opportunity to discover the secrets in this mist-covered hillsides which is blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforest gorilla tracking. It is humbling experience to stand just meters from them as they eat, rest, play and bond with their young ones. The gorilla tracking starts at 8:30 am. The tracking lasts from few hours depending on the location of the gorillas as they freely range in the impenetrable forest and tours are limited to only 8 people per group. Forest and green rolling terraced hills. After getting back to the lodge have your time to relax as you enjoy the perfect balcony view of Forest from your room or on your private patio or just outside at the shade besides the restaurant and the bar.
Day 8:Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Birding En-route.
After breakfast to Ruhija Birding in Bwindi happens mainly in the Mubwindi Swamp in Ruhija sector of the park, ‘The Neck’ a stretch of the forest joining Ruhija to the Buhoma sector and the Buhoma area especially on the waterfall trail, expect to see Handsome francolin, Black bee-eaters, jackson’s antipecker, African Emerald cuckoo, African blue White tailed blue.Fly catchers, African green pigeon, African harrier hawk, Cinnamon-chested beef eater, Common bulbul (Dark-capped bulbul), Enjoy the best memorable photograph while in the forest you may see some of the beautiful and colorful birds such as Ruwenzori Turacoo, regal sunbird, specled-mousebird, Rwenzori Batis, stonechats. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park to Ishasha via Ruhija via the neck looking out for birds such as Black Bee-eater, Red-throated wryneck, mountain wagtail, Toro olive-greenbul, White-starred Robin, Cassin’s-grey flycatcher, mountain masked apalis, Grey cuckoo shrike, stripe-breasted Tit, Sharpe’s Starling, Yellow Bishop, dusky twinspot, Chestnut-throated apalis, Strange weaver, Black-throated seedeater. These are some of the specials you expect record and photograph through and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park with stopover for Lunch enroute at the selected Hotel/Restaurant.
After Lunch drive to Ishasha the remote southern region, enjoy the rewarding sightings of the tree-climbing lions lounging in the branches of the trees. Enjoy the varieties of other wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, topis, waterbucks. Uganda kobs, hippos get the best photographic opportunities. This classic African safari is a great memorable experience combined together with birding opportunities in this remote southern sector of Queen Elizabeth and with over 600 species of birds such as Black-rumped buttonquails, Martial eagle, Chapin’s flycatcher, Verreaux’s eagle owl, white-tailed lark proceeding to Katunguru to check in at the lodge this drive from Ishasha to Katunguru is very charming as you sprawl in the great endless plains.
Day 9:Morning Game Drive in Kasenyi area & Birding in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After early morning breakfast drive to Kasenyi for the best morning clear photographs and in this vast savanna of Kasenyi which is the perfect setting for the classic African safari experience. Get prepared to photograph animals such as Uganda kobs, waterbucks, herds of elephants and buffalos which provide dream photo opportunities before returning to the lodge for lunch. Enjoy the great view set against the backdrop of the jagged Ruwenzori Mountains. Enjoy the explosion craters. After lunch drive to Kazinga Channel the Oasis for many of the fascinating species that inhibit the park. This two hours boat cruise will give you chance just to cruise few meters away from hippopotamuses and buffaloes while the hug slow moving elephants meander just by the shores and rich in water birds such Great cormorants, Pink-backed pelicans, Egyptian geese.
Boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After lunch drive to Mweya peninsula for boat ride along Kazinga Channel. This is Queen’s focal point, it is still jam-packed with birds and animals. Its elevated position commands gorgeous views of the Kazinga Channel, the most relaxing way to enjoy the wildlife safari here. Enjoy hippos and elephants with rich birding opportunities here look for Pink backed pelican, long and great cormorants, pied kingfisher vocal African fish eagle and many others.
Day 10:Chimpanzee tracking & birding in Kibale National Park
Chimpanzee tracking is the most popular tourist activity in this loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest cover interspersed with over 375 species of birds, 60 mammal species and mostly famous 13 species of primate diversity. Participate and enjoy the chimpanzee tracking which starts at 8:00 am which lasts 2 – 5 hours. The tracking is only for 6 people per group. After tracking drive back to the lodge. Day 11: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park & Birding en-route
After early morning breakfast drive to Murchison Falls National Park through Hoima town and proceed via Rift Valley escarpment as you bird en-route with rich encounter birds such as eastern grey plantain eaters, black kite, Hadada ibis, sacred ibis, cattle egret, speckled mouse bird, bronze manikin, long-crested eagle, tawny eagle, welberge’s eagle, broad-billed rollers, grey-headed kingfishers, woodland kingfishers, white-broad robin chat, spotted morning thrush, back-headed gonolek, double-toothed barbet, . Fabulous scenery and more scenic route with views across Lake Albert towards the blue mountains of the Democratic Republic of Congo while birding on the way for the dry country birds, with stopover for lunch at the selected restaurant/Hotel in Hoima Town, gives an opportunity to discover the surrounding local community to Murchison Falls National Park. Day 12:Morning Game Drive and Birding in National Park
After breakfast drive to the northern part in search for the four of big five mammals. Here you will see and enjoy the best photographs of African buffaloes which is one of the most social animals of the plains and you will not miss the giant African Elephants and so many other, the cheerful antelopes and of course the king of the jungle – lions. Afternoon Boat Cruise to the Bottom of Murchison Falls
After lunch drive down to the ferry for the afternoon boat cruise the rewarding and memorable experience, enjoy hippos and crocodiles and also the frequent visitors such as elephants, buffaloes, baboons, waterbucks and many birds such as Murchison Falls specials, like Pel’s fishing Owl, African fin foot, Rock Pranticoles, Pied kingfisher, Giant Kingfisher, Allen’s Gallinules, black-crown night heron, goliath heron, African skimmers, Bruce’s green Pigeon, Spur-winged geese, wire-tailed swallows, Saddle-billed stork and many others, gifting you with the frontal view of the waterfalls.
Day 13:Visit to top of Murchison Falls & Birding
Drive to the top of Murchison Falls and it takes you about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Enjoy the best photograph for the mighty Murchison Falls and freedom falls at the picnic platform view of the Nile squeezing itself on 7-8m wide gorge while standing at the Baker’s rock with thunderous roar into devil’s “cauldron” creating a trademark rainbow before reach up at the top to witness the remains of the 10 pound bridge which was funded by Sir Winston Churchill in 1961 and lasted only for one year, here expect to see birds such as rock pranticoles, drive back to the lodge.
Day 14:Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Birding En-route in Budongo Forest for Forest endemics
After morning breakfast transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary as you bird en-route in Budongo forest for the forest endemics of this Natural tropical rain forest. Kaniyo Pabidi sector of Budongo Forest is very rewarding. Here you will enjoy a lot of attractions such as a cool shaded forest that promises an unprecedented density and diversity of flora ranging from towering hardwoods to luscious ferns and animals such as baboon vervet and black and white Colobous monkeys with several forest endemic bird species such as puvel’s Illadopsis, Narina trogon, several tinkerbirds, orioles, Abysinian ground hornbills, black and white casqued hornbill and many other Budongo special. Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking with lunch at the selected restaurant and afterwards transfer back to Entebbe international Airport.
Rhino Tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Here at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary you will enjoy the tracking of the southern White Rhino which were declared extinct in Uganda by 1983. Later, through conservation efforts, the white Rhino finds its birth again. This is the only place in Uganda where you can find Rhinos in the wild. Along with the Rhinos, there are other wildlife that roam this sanctuary. They include animals such as: Baboons, Velvet Monkeys, Warthogs, Black and White Columbus monkeys, Uganda Kob, Waterbucks, Bush backs, Hippos, Pangolins, Mangoose, snakes and different species of birds such as; saddle beaked stork, shoe bills, and Grey crowned Crane among others. As you walk through along led by the Rhino fund guide on the foot, stop over for lunch en-route at the selected restaurant and afterwards transfer back to Entebbe international Airport.
Day 15: Birding Botanical Gardens and Transfer to Entebbe International Airport
After Early morning breakfast transfer to botanical gardens for the best birding opportunities around the green garden near Lake Victoria in Entebbe rich in birds such ross’s turaco, woodland kingfisher, African Fish eagle, great blue turaco, and several sun birds afterwards proceed to the selected hotel/restaurant for Lunch, after lunch proceed to Entebbe International airport to check in for the flight
