Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to in Congo
You will be picked from Kigali Rwanda by our professional driver who will be your guide at the same time and transfer to DR Congo through the borders. The scenic views of the rolling hills of Rwanda’s countryside will leave your mind blown at the beautiful sightings. There will be a lunch stop at the border before proceeding to Bukima in Congo where you will spend the night. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Virunga National Park
After the morning breakfast, you will drive to the park offices where you will be briefed on the rules of tracking the Gorillas and verification of your documents. You will then be led into the forest to search for the habituated mountain Gorillas. The trekking might take you 30 minutes to half a day depending on the movement of the Gorillas. You will be allowed to have a full hour with the Gorillas from the time of encounter as you learn the behavior of individual Gorillas in the family. You will then be led back to the starting point to meet your driver/guide to transfer to another destination.
Day 3: Departure and return to Kigali Rwanda
After the morning breakfast at the lodge, you will set off for Kigali your starting point through the border. There will be a short lunch break and proceed to Rwanda to catchup with your final flight in Rwanda or to catchup with your programs.
