The 5 days’ double gorilla tracking Uganda Rwanda takes you to the Volcanoes and Bwindi Parks to explore the behavior of these giant apes. The double trekking means you will visit two different families in different parks. Gorillas are some of the most endangered primates in the world living in the high mountain ranges of Uganda, Rwanda and DRC.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Our professional guide will pick you from your Hotel in Kigali and take you for a simple city tour to the Gitamara Genocide memorial where remains of thousands of Rwandans were buried after the genocide in 1994. Pictures, audios and videos at the site will give you a clear picture of what transpired in Rwanda years back. After this tour, you will transfer to Volcanoes National park, which is located in the Northern side of Rwanda. You will enjoy the scenic views of the rolling hills of the countryside as you drive through until you arrive at Volcanoes National park in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge with in the park.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Volcanoes NP
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed with other visitors and be allocated a gorilla family to track. You will then hit the jungle with a team of guides and start on the search for these habituated Gorillas in their natural habitat. After 2-3 hours (it can be less or more time) of hiking in the thick forest, you will meet these gentle giants feeding and living their natural life. Meeting face to face with the giant apes is the highlight of this activity and you will have a whole hour encounter with them. Be sure to carry your camera to have captions of your favorite moments with the Gorillas. After this blissful experience, you will return to the starting point to meet your driver and return to the lodge to have some rest. Dinner and overnight at the lodge later.


Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

This day begins on a tasty meal at the Hotel/lodge and head to the city for an encounter with the locals to learn about their daily lives. You will then proceed to exit the city and cross to Uganda through Gatuna border. The journey is approximately three hours and you will soon arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable forest, the home to over 500 Gorillas. Arrive in the evening hours and check in to the lodge with in the park. the scenic views of the forest through the hotel window are so amazing. Dinner and overnight at the lodge later.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking Bwindi National Park
This day is another exciting day that starts with a meal for breakfast at the lodge, transfer to the park offices for briefing by the guides. You will be allocated a gorilla family to track with other guests that you will find at the office. You will then start tracking the Gorillas and after a few hours of hiking meet them feeding and going about their natural life. You will be given a full hour as you continue learning the behavior of these apes. Return to the starting point after this exciting exercise and meet your driver to transfer you to the Hotel for lunch. If time allows, there will be an evening community visit to explore the life of the local people especially the Batwa people. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Drive to Kampala
You will drive off to Kampala in the morning after breakfast at the lodge, you will have a stopover at Igongo Cultural center for a cultural encounter and lunch and then proceed to Kampala. There will be another stopover at the equator for a picture moment and souvenirs and continue to Kampala to catch up with your flight at Entebbe international airport.
