Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and Transfer to the Hotel
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and drive to the Hotel for overnight, to wipe off the long journey flight. Relax as you prepare to get set for the next day to Mabamba swamp, one of the few places in Uganda where the bizarre shoebill can be sighted.
Day 2: Transfer to Mabamba and Lake Mburo National Park
Pick from Entebbe at the Hotel and transfer to Mabamba swamp for shoebill before proceeding to Lake Mburo National Park, with stop over at the equator then proceed through Masaka but stop over for lunch at a selected restaurant or hotel. This drive is a memorable one with a fantastic view of the dry rolling hills of Ankole with their signature long horned cattle just besides the roads.
Evening Game Drive in Lake Mburo National Park
Enjoy the evening Game drive for the best wildlife safari experience and photography in this sculptured landscape, rolling hills, rock outcrops, and open wooded savanna. The expected animals include: Zebras, Impalas, Elands, Topis, Giraffes, Waterbucks, Klipspringers, Velvet Monkeys, Buffalos, Warthogs, Baboons, and several bird species. This park alone has 332 known bird species, and 69 species of mammals. After wards, drive to the lodge to check in for an overnight.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive in Lake Mburo national Park
After breakfast, drive to the park for the excellent wildlife photographs and the compact jewel there are well presented wildlife at only 370Kms2. The park is small compared to other savanna national parks in Uganda.
Being a home to surprising wildlife, and the only national park in Uganda that has Impalas, you enjoy the beauty of these whispers of the wild. After game drive, return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon Boat Cruise in Lake Mburo National Park
The boat moves along the shores of Lake Mburo as you sit back ready with your camera to photograph the gifting wildlife. This trip is two hours and very engaging especially when you spot Crocodiles and Hippos. You can also spot herons, African Fish Eagles, Pelicans, and perhaps the African Fin Foot and the Shoebill the sought after bird by bird watchers.
Day 4: Morning Guided Nature walk in Lake Mburo National Park
After early morning breakfast meet the armed ranger guide for the walk. This walk gives you an opportunity to explore and photograph the attractions of these whispers of the wild in its natural state for the best memorable eye to eye wildlife in Uganda. Afterwards return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch relax at the lodge on your private patio as you waiting to go for your sun set photography opportunity around Lake Mburo National Park.
Day 5: Visit the Cultural Museum and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After lunch, visit the cultural museum where the future meets the past. Visit eriijukiro, Kwazi (Nkwanzi) crafts shop, cultural villages such as; Mparo Court and Kitami Palace. These places house the traditional huts for cattle and crop farmers.
Visit the magnificent sculpture of the warrior queen in her court, a representation of ancient Mpororo Kingdom before proceeding to Mbarara town as you drive through this amazing and spectacular scenery which never fails to impress. Some of the birds you expect to encounter on your way to Bwindi includes, Grey-crowned crane, Marabou stork, Bare-faced Go-away-bird, stripped kingfisher, grey-headed kingfisher, Double-toothed Barbet brown parrot, Ibis hadada, cattle Egrets and many others The region is sometimes referred as the land of milk and honey.
Enjoy the noble slow moving animals which were originally herded down from ancient Egyptians 2000 years ago called new long-horned Ankole cattle. Before driving through the small like roads though the green rolling mulched hills of Kigezi region before reaching Bwindi in the evening to check in at the lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast drive to the tourist gorilla tracking briefing point to get registered and set off to go and meet with these amazing beautiful and peaceful giants. The tracking begins after you have met the gorillas. The Park gives you an opportunity to discover the secrets in this mist and fog covered hillsides which is blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforest gorilla tracking. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from them as they eat, rest, play and bond with their young ones. The gorilla tracking starts at 8:30 am. The tracking lasts from few hours depending on the location of the gorillas as they freely range in the impenetrable forest and tours are limited to only 8 people per group.
After getting back to the lodge have your time to relax as you enjoy the perfect balcony view of the Forest from your room or on your private patio or just outside at the shade beside the restaurant and the bar.
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After morning breakfast, drive through Bushenyi – Ishaka- Igara- before reaching the land of craters in Bunyaruguru (Rubiriizi). This drive gives you the opportunity to enjoy the scenic view of the ever green tea plantations, before reaching Kalinzu forest reserve and Kichwamba Escarpment sceneries, the fantastic view of the Rwenzori mountain and drive in at the lodge late in the evening.
Day 8: Morning Game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, drive to Kasenyi plains for a rewarding game drive and best photographs set against the backdrop of the jagged Rwenzori Mountains. Enjoy the vast savanna grasslands for a classic African Safari experience. This gives you an opportunity to enjoy the huge herds of Uganda Kobs that attract prides of lions, huge dark elephants, drive through this sprawling savanna, enjoy the panoramic view of this Park, the ideal habitat for classic big game. Its outstanding wildlife attraction such as; Buffalos, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Elephants, Leopards, Hyenas, and enjoy the scenic view of the park’s magnificent dozens of enormous craters curved dramatically into rolling green hills. At Mweya Peninsula the Queens focal point. Its elevation portion commands gorgeous views of the Kazinga Channel. Enjoy Kazinga Channel the Oasis for the many fascinating wildlife giving you an opportunity to cruise just metres away from hundreds of erroneous Hippos and Buffalos. While Elephants linger on the shoreline.
Afternoon Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After lunch drive to Kazinga Channel the Oasis for many of the fascinating species that inhibit the park. This two hours boat cruise will give you chance just to cruise few meters away from hippopotamuses and buffaloes while the hug slow moving elephants meander just by the shores. Enjoy the fantastic view and the best chance to photograph animals and birds while the expert ranger guide narrates the stories of these creatures. See local fishermen in the Lake Edward before returning to drive back to the lodge.
Day 9 Transfer to Kibale National Park
Drive to Kibale National Park via Fort Portal where you will stopover for lunch at selected Hotel/restaurant, drive through this spectacular mountainous area set against the dramatic backdrop of distant mountains of the moon the jagged Ruwenzori before lies the vast tea plantation of Tooro Kingdom. These buzzling endless green dotted tea plantation gives you a fantastic view for the best travel memory with stop over for lunch at selected restaurant/lodge in Fort portal city proceeding to Kibale National check in at the lodge for overnight.
Day 10: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park
After early morning breakfast drive to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for briefing to get set to go and meet the chimpanzee in the forest. Kibale forest is regarded as the playground of the chimpanzees and it is one of the few remaining areas of rainforest in Africa and offers the visitor the high percentage of viewing the 600 chimpanzees that rest in its tree canopy. The tracking starts at 8.00am to 2.00pm and lasts 2 – 5 hours. You will go through this ritual accompanied by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) Ranger Guides and being the highest Africa diversity at the primates in Africa and famously known as the primate capital of the world you will as well come across the Adam naked tree during the walk after tracking drive back to the lodge.
Day 11: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Drive to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Murchison falls is very long but rewarding through the ever green tea plantations route in Fort Portal combined with spectacular landscape and views of Rwenzori ranges. Proceed to Hoima, via Kagadi for lunch at selected restaurants/hotels before proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park via Buliisa. This route is longer but more scenic and the memorable descent at the Rift Valley Escarpment with beautiful scenic views across Lake Albert towards the blue mountains of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Enjoy Bugungu Wildlife Reserve proceed and visit the top of Murchison and check in at the lodge late in the evening.
Day 12: Morning Game drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, drive to the northern part of the park for the best and most Uganda’s remarkable wildlife spectacles, enjoy a fantastic photograph of the wide range of animals such as; Uganda Kobs, elephants, pats monkeys, heartbeats, Waterbucks, Buffalos, giraffes and Hippos in this Park the most popular safari destination. Track a herd of Buffalos as they range along the great open expanse and witness that nature moves at its own speed. The more time you spend in the land walked by both predator and prey, it is the call of the wild, an invitation to a simpler world filled with excitement and awe. Start the day the way nature intended as the sun begins to rise and shine over the ironic bush veld scenery in palm-dotted savanna, drive back to the lodge for lunch before proceeding for afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls, for the best adventurous experience in the primal wilderness presenting astonishing display of wildlife such as; Hippos, Crocodiles, Elephants.
Day 13: Hiking to the top of Murchison Falls
Enjoy the best photograph for the mighty Murchison Falls and freedom falls at the picnic platform view of the Nile squeezing itself on 7-8m wide gorge while standing at the Baker’s rock with thunderous roar into devil’s “cauldron” creating a trademark rainbow
It gives you an opportunity to see the violent compression through the narrow gorge creates a continuous roar from the top. It plunges 45m over the remnant rift valley wall creating the dramatic Murchison Falls, the center piece of the park and enjoy the fantastic view of the scenery down below the mighty cascade drains the last of the river’s energy transforming it into a broad placid stream that flows quietly across the rift valley floor. While at this point you will see a wide gorge and plunges with a thunderous roar into the “Devil’s Cauldron” creating a trademark rainbow. This is a fantastic and great reward for the pose and photograph opportunities.
Reach up at the top to witness the remains of the 10 pounds bridge which was funded by Sir Winston Churchill in 1961 and lasted only for one year and then you drive back to the lodge.
Day 14:After breakfast to the Lodge proceed take morning sunrise boat cruise to the Delta for the best photographs of both birds and animals, here with see plentiful of Hippos, waterbucks, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Baboons, Crocodiles, Warthogs with rich water and dry country birds such as beautiful saddle-billed stork, African fish eagle, grey crowned cranes, Goliath heron, woodland Kingfisher, Pied Kingfisher, Malachite kingfisher, grey headed kingfisher, African Darter, Great and long-tailed cormorants, cattle egrets, Egyptian goose, Palm-nut vulture, Cattle egret, African jacana, Purple heron, grey heron, Bustards, grey kestrel, African marsh harrier, Swamp warbler, western banded brown snake eagle, Water thicknee, Purple swamped, Allen’s gallinules, Osprey and perhaps the bizarre Shoebill. This boat cruise is one of the most exciting cruise for bird and nature lovers see the papyrus plants which gives the highest chance of seeing papyrus Gonolek the papyrus swamp dwelling bird. You will as well see the point where Victoria Nile enters lake Albert and changes its direction north wards as Albert Nile where you will see local fishermen as the river flows to the north direction to South Sudan direction and into Egypt.
Day 15: Transfer to Chobe Sector of Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast transfer to (Chobe Sector). Experience the remote region one that reflects a complex and fascinating nation that has always found a way of turning struggles into joy as you drive through. This drive through Acholi land is a rewarding contemplates of human kind that creates a vibrant mix of people across this part of the continent and of all cultures. Enjoy the Manyattas of the Luo speaking group of people in Karuma area before proceeding to Chobe Lodge for overnight.
Day 16 : Guided Nature Walk in Chobe Sector of Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast meet the armed ranger guide who will take you through one of the most exiting Guided walk to track animals on foot around Chobe area, this is the best play ground for Murchison falls national park several herds of buffalos, elephants, giraffes, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, oribi, warthogs, baboon, hartebeest, and sometimes leopards which are increasingly being spotted around Chobe airstrip, and water pond and as well as salt lick point where most of animals congregate during the dry spell, This beautiful biodiversity will quench your thirsty with the lullaby of the wild singing into slumber. Afterwards return to the lodge for lunch as you relax at your private patio.
Day 17:Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, drive to Kampala via Karuma. This drive through as you cross the bridge at Karuma and getting into Bunyoro Sub-regions a rewarding contemplate of human kind that creates a vibrant mix of people across this part of the continent and of all cultures. Here at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary you will enjoy the tracking of the southern White Rhino which were declared extinct in Uganda by 1983. Later, through conservation efforts, the white Rhino finds its birth again. This is the only place in Uganda where you can find Rhinos in the wild. Along with the Rhinos, there are other wildlife that roam this sanctuary. They include animals such as: Baboons, Velvet Monkeys, Warthogs, Black and White Columbus monkeys, Uganda Kob, Waterbucks, Bush backs, Hippos, Pangolins, Mangoose, snakes and different species of birds such as; saddle beaked stork, shoe bills, and Grey crowned Crane among others. As you walk through along led by the Rhino fund guide on the foot, stop over for lunch en-route. After lunch at the selected Hotel/Restaurant drive to Entebbe to check at the Flight at Airport.
